Hey all,

If you run Agent Mesh with token budgets, you already know they stop spending at the limit. What was missing was any warning on the way there. Now people can see where they stand.

When a user crosses their alert threshold, a warning banner shows up at the top of the chat with the reset date. Nothing is blocked yet. They can dismiss it, and it stays dismissed across reloads, but if an admin changes their limit the banner comes back. Once they actually hit the limit, the banner turns red, the run in progress stops with a clear message, and new requests are refused with the reset date in the reply.

Users also get notifications with their usage as a percentage. Budget admins get a different view: alerts with real amounts (what was spent, the limit, the percentage) and a Review budget action that takes them straight to the Budgets screen.

The part I like most as a developer is the event driven path. When an Event Mesh entrypoint rule refuses an event because the budget is spent, it publishes the refusal on the rule’s error output topic, with code -32029 and the reset date, instead of dropping it quietly. Your downstream systems can react to it.

The video walks through all of it in under four minutes:

How are you keeping an eye on token spend today? And what would you do with that refusal on the error topic? Let me know in the thread.

If you want to try it yourself, you can [download Solace Agent Mesh](https://solace.com/products/agent-mesh/). The code is on GitHub:
