Hi all,
I’m using Action ‘Move Application’ from the application listing of an application domain to move one application to another application domain. I do get error ‘Unable to complete the move operation as the selected applications have associated application versions’. I have removed all but the ‘Released’ version. Deleting that only remaining version would delete the application itself, so that can’t be the solution. Also tried to put the application into status ‘Draft’, ‘Retired’, ‘Deprecated’ but that makes no difference to the error.
What could be the problem?
Thanks for your insights.
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Moving applications is independent of the number of application versions or their states. All application versions in all states are moved to the target application domain.
Would you be able to provide more details and screenshots?
Do you have editor permissions in the target application domain?
Joseph
Hi Joseph,
thanks for your reply. This is the error message I get when trying to move the application from one application domain to another application domain:
This is a misleading error message as what I can see only the active application version when I display the application to be moved.
I have admin permissions in the event portal for the target application domain. Just tried, I’m allowed to create a new application manually in that application domain.
Thanks for any insights,
Stefan.
Hi Stefan,
Thank you for the information.
The move operation fails because this application is linked to another application. We don’t support this use case at the moment.
As a workaround, you can unlink the applications, move them, and relink them in the target application domain.
Could you also please raise a feature request?
Thank you,
Joseph
Hi Joseph,
thanks for your response. I’m not aware of having linked the affected application to another application and don’t seem to find menu options in the designer to link or unlink applications. Could you help how to achieve the suggested: ‘as a workaround, you can unlink the applications‘?
Thank you kindly,
Stefan.
Hi Stefan,
I asked Alex to book a meeting to go over this issue.
Joseph
I had a nice discussion with Stefan. The application was linked to another one but it was not visible in the Designer graph because the arrow was under the application to event link. We also went over how to handle application to application links in the forms view.
Thanks again for the call Stefan and don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
