On behalf of the Solace team, I’m proud to announce the General Availability of the Solace Schema Registry (version 1.0.0)! The Schema Registry GA release has occurred concurrently with the Solace AVRO SERDES for Java version 1.0.0, Solace JSON SERDES for Java version 1.0.0, and the Solace JCSMP/JMS/Jakarta API version 10.28.0 as a complete package to enable the first production deployments of the Solace Schema Registry. The 2 SERDES and the API versions are also available on Maven.
The Solace Schema Registry provides a single source of truth for your payload data structure definitions (known as schema). The Solace Schema Registry, when coupled with the Solace SERDES Collection, enables your producers and consumers to agree on the topics, format, fields, and types of information to be exchanged. A key component of strong Enterprise data governance & data quality management!
This release includes the ability to:
-
View, configure, register, and regulate schema with the Solace Schema Registry including its GUI, management API, and SERDES messaging
-
Leverage the Schema registry with code leveraging our JCSMP API and either AVRO or JSON SERDES format
-
Consume and publish messages as SMF or REST/HTTP (leveraging our SERDES and the your preferred HTTP client)
-
Leverage Solace Schema Strategies, Schema Caching, and Reference Schemas with our Schema Registry & SERDES
-
Use the schema registry in production with a 3+ node High Availability configuration and OpenID authentication

Now you can develop more confidently with consistent use of schemas and topics to ensure the data the producer serializes is exactly what is deserialized by the consumer without being locked into an permanently fixed API and schema!
With (data) quality and governance,

P.S. This is just the beginning! There are many more formats, APIs, features, and tools to come to support your data quality and governance requirements! Need something in particular? Please reach out to your Solace account team!
